Biography
The younger brother of Nick Carter (member of Boy Band Backstreet Boys), Aaron Carter began performing as a singer, at the age of 7. He gained fame and celebrity as a hip-hop and pop singer during the late 90's while managing to establish himself as a teenage 'Heartthrob' during the early 2000's. Known more for his personal life escapades including relationships with teen actors Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff, Aaron's name was also splashed in the media for legal issues, and some involving his mother.
Born on 7 December 1987, in Tampa, Florida, Aaron has been singing pop, hip-hop, pop rap, dance and contemporary ballads for over a decade now. He recorded a song, with many other artists, on the album Disney Mania, called 'I Just Can't Wait to be King' from the movie Lion King. Though, his music consists of romantic ballads and hip-hop, Aaron is a versatile player of several musical instruments including guitar, piano, drums, and saxophone. But, he really enjoys dancing and does some of his own choreography.
After being part of the band Dead End, he made his first solo appearance singing the cover of The Jets hit 'Crush On You', while opening for Backstreet Boys in Berlin in March 1997. Aaron's eponymous debut album, released in 1998 in US, was a huge hit, and went gold in Canada, Denmark, Germany, Norway and Spain. Aaron's parents filed a lawsuit against Lou Pearlman, his former manager, for not paying a huge amount of money in royalties on this album that was released through Pearlman's label.
Aaron's life has been lending his voice to soundtracks of various movies including Pok魯n: The First Movie (1999), Rugrats in Paris: The Movie (2000), Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and The Princess Diaries (both 2001). In 2000, he released his next album Aaron's Party (Come Get It) in the United States. The album was a certified triple-platinum, selling more than 1.5 million copies in the United States only! In 2001, Aaron, at the age of thirteen, recorded the album Oh, Aaron, and it featured his first duet with his brother, Nick.
Following the success of Aaron's Party, Another Earthquake (2002), was released and promoted during the 'Rock, Rap, and Retro' tour. Soon after, Aaron's Most Requested Hits, a compilation of tracks from his previous three albums including a brand new single, 'One Better' was released in 2003. And his most recently released work as been the 'Saturday Night' CD single, released in 2005. This single was also featured on the soundtrack of the film Popstar, in which Aaron starred.
In 2006, Aaron faced a lawsuit by Lou Pearlman's Trans Continental that he allegedly reneged on a recording deal.
In 2006, Nick Carter, started a reality show on E! called House of Carters that reunited all the Carter siblings under one roof. On the same show, Aaron has been shown working on a new album scheduled to be released in 2007 summer. His new album is rumoured to be inspired by hip-hop, old bubblegum pop oriented feeling.
