Her platinum-selling Triple Threat debut album was released in 1998 and it had hits like no other: “Ghetto Superstar,” “It’s All About Me,” “My Love is Like Whoa” and who can forget her teaming up with Lil Kim, Pink, Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliot on “Lady Marmelade.”
Oh, that’s right – we can forget. She went on “Shall We Dance” and had a part in “Chicago” and that was pretty much it. She sort of disappeared after her 5 minutes (literally) of fame. She’s still huge in Japan, but then again, who isn’t?
And a lot of these actors and actresses are still working to this day, whether they’re big or not—I’ve seen a lot of actors/actresses who were proclaimed to be the next big thing come and go over the years—even if you’re very talented, that, sadly, is still no guarantee you’ll make the A-list. Most of them are just glad to still be working, period.
Not everyone in Hollywood can be at the top of the A-List.
Some don’t want to be. Some would rather have regular work in TV programs. And so on.
