Seems like everyone’s either splitting or getting married in the magical kingdom of celebs. One of the most famous and biggest power couples in Hollywood, Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton, have split after 13 years together.
Helena’s representative confirmed the news of one of the most stable love partnerships in show business: “Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter separated amicably earlier this year and have continued to be friends and co-parent their children. We would ask that you respect their privacy and that of their children during this time.”
Burton and Carter had a really artistically fruitful relationship. They first met on the set of Planet of the Apes in 2001, which was directed by Burton, and continued to collaborate on additional films like Big Fish (2003), Corpse Bride (2005), Sweeney Todd (2007), and Alice in Wonderland (2010).
The now-ex couple made headlines last fall, after Burton was photographed kissing a mysterious blonde woman on the lips. Carter’s representatives slammed the story and called it an “absolute nonsense.” They also added that “the pictures were taken whilst they were out and the large group includes family, friends, and work colleagues.”
The quirky pair last attended an event together in London last month, where they expressed their love for Christmas and the whole holiday season.
It’s an end of an era.
