Angelina Jolie Talks About Surgeries: ‘I Knew Brad Was On My Side’

November 2, 2015

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie did a rare and candid interview on the Today Show recently and the power-couple opened up about their life after Angelina’s surgeries.

For those of you who don’t know, 2 years ago the actress underwent a double mastectomy after testing positive for a hereditary gene that puts her at 87% risk of getting breast cancer.

Angelina decided to do the risky surgical procedures so she would decrease her chances of getting this horrible disease that was fatal for her mother, while recently she also decided to remove her ovaries due to a similar risk of getting ovarian cancer.

“I knew through the surgeries that he was on my side and that this wasn’t something where I was going to feel less of a woman, because my husband wasn’t going to let that happen,” Jolie said in the interview, and Brad added the following:

“Whatever’s got to be done to keep the family together, and keep the family together as long as possible is going to be done. This was her charge, no question. It’s a scary decision. There’s many things that can go wrong and go many different directions.”

By The Sea

The 40-year-old actress also talked about her upcoming movie “By The Sea”, in which they both star, and she emphasized that the deeply troubled couple in the movie in no way resembles Brangelina.

“I’m counting on the audience to know that if it was close to us at all, we could never make this film. It’s because we’re actually very, very stable and these aren’t our issues.”
