They said they would do it, and they did! Semi-famed Hollywood actress Amber Heard was charged in Australia for illegally bringing her and her husband’s two dogs into the country. The 29-year-old actress was summoned on July 15th to an Australia count on two counts of illegally importing the adorable pets, Pistol and Boo respectively, and on one count of producing an unspecified false document.
These charges can lead to a fine of $75,000 and a maximum of a whole decade behind bars!
Heard and her husband, one of the most popular and beloved actors in the world, Johnny Depp, found themselves in this mess when Heard went to Australia to visit her husband on set of Pirates Of The Caribbean.
Australian laws require a permit and quarantine for pets (lasting for as long as 10 days). The famous couple was given a 72-hour ultimatum to either take their beloved pets out of the country or to hand them over to be euthanized.
They didn’t take the whole thing seriously, and Heard even stated at one moment that the “Australian government was going after their 15 minutes of fame.” The officials in the Land Down Under stated that if they would bend the rules for movie stars like Johnny Depp, they might as well let everyone do what they want.
