Jennifer Lawrence may have worked out and practiced archery to prepare for her grueling films shoots as she took on the role of Katniss in both “Hunger Games” movies, but she refuses to diet in order to fit the Hollywood standard of super-thin women.
Lawrence has said that she wants to be a role model for girls, but she doesn’t want them skipping meals to look like her.
2. She is Feuding with Joan Rivers

Not everyone loves Lawrence. Recently, J-Law took issue with shows like “Fashion Police,” which is hosted by Joan Rivers, for their judgments of how women look.Rivers responded by accusing Lawrence of not owning up to having photos retouched to make her appearance look better.
The feud should make this year’s Golden Globes and Oscar ceremonies particularly interesting.
3. She’s Still Close with Her Childhood Friend

The starlet was honored with the Down Syndrome of Louisville’s Friendship Award to honor her close relationship with Andy Strunk. She and Strunk have been friends since middle school and are still close. He has Down’s syndrome, and was able to present the award to his famous pal.
4. She’s Always Starring Next to Bradley Cooper

He might not have been the star in the “Hunger Games” movies, but Bradley Cooper has flashed his winning smile on-screen with Lawrence in three movies. They have appeared together in “Silver Linings Playbook,” “American Hustle,” and “Serena.” Though many hoped the two were partners in real life, both have denied the rumor of any romantic connection.
5. She’s Had Plenty of Parts on the Small Screen

One of Jennifer Lawrence’s earliest screen appearances was a role as a mascot on the popular series “Monk.” Luckily, audiences get to see more of her in her most recent roles. She also had roles on “The Bill Engvall Show” and “Medium.”
6. She Knows How to Skin a Squirrel

For her appearance in “Winter’s Bone,” Lawrence learned how to skin a squirrel by watching a brother’s friend demonstrate. Lawrence had to pretend to do the same in one of her scenes in the flick, which prompted a reaction from the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
Lawrence wasn’t impressed with PETA’s remarks, and commented in her classic candid fashion by saying, “Screw PETA.”
7. She Was Discovered While on a Family Vacation

Lawrence was vacationing with her family in New York City when she was approached by a person who took her photograph and took her mother’s contact number. Lawrence was just 14 at the time, and the next day she received a call for a screen test. She ended up spending the summer in NYC, taking on lots of small roles that led her to where she is today.
8. She Gets Star Struck

Not everyone in Hollywood is fazed by meeting other celebrities, but Jennifer Lawrence gets pretty excited when she meets her favorite stars.
She attempted to approach Bridges at the San Diego Comic Con only to lose her nerve and run away. Lawrence did come back and approach him, telling Bridges she is a huge fan.
Jack Nicholson interrupted one of Lawrence’s post-Oscar win interviews to tell her how great she did in her film, and rumor has it the Hollywood legend sent Lawrence flowers and a bottle of Champagne as well.

I’ve often thought “People for the Understanding Treatment of Animals” would have been a much more appropriate name for that group.
I agree. PETA’s simply another mother-in-law figure for the American people with their unsolicited commandments to the rest of us.
