2016 Grammys: Performance Recap

February 16, 2016

The biggest and most important night in music during one calendar year has ended last night, and thus all that we are left with now are recaps, rumors, and shade-throwing memes from the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.

The show started and ended with a truly big bang.

Huge names in the music industry in the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Adele, The Weekend, and Taylor Swift performed during the show.

Swift opened the special night with her hit song “Out Of The Woods,” which was followed by a sizzling and chemistry-packed performance by Carrie Underwood and Sam Hunt. The talented duo performed their duet titled “heartbeat.”

The Weekend, who pretty much owned past year’s charts, earned a well-deserved standing ovation for his amazing performance of hit biggest hits, and The Eagles paid tribute to the late guitarist Glenn Frey, who died a couple weeks ago.

Lamar’s performance was nothing short of powerful and controversial. The famed rapper brought his huge hits “The Blacker The Berry” and “Alright” to the crowds, while in jail chains. The award-winning a cappella group Pentatonix followed with a special tribute to the late Maurice White, who passed away two weeks ago, and they were joined by the legendary Stevie Wonder. Wonder made the audience laugh while presenting Song Of The Year, when he joked about not being able to read the card.

Gwen Stefani recorded her “Make Me Like You” music video live during a commercial break and thus made history, while Adele unfortunately suffered some technical difficulties while singing “All I Ask.” Lady Gaga brought everyone to tears with her tribute to the late David Bowie, while looking absolutely stunning.
